Information isn’t worth much if it doesn’t serve a purpose.
In a class on managing information systems, you’ll learn how
businesses use information systems to improve their operations.
Information systems include systems that are not intended for
decision making. MIS is sometimes referred to, in a restrictive
sense, as information technology management.
Students will get hands-on experience with state-of-the-art
commercial relational and object-oriented database technology
and learn to use SQL. Students can use these computers as
stand-alone workstations, to access host systems, or to
communicate via the Internet with other students and
professionals throughout the world. These clusters are open to
all students at NDSU.
Project management is a growing career opportunity and an
important part of business today. The services of certified,
experienced project management professionals are in demand and
crucial to business success, allowing for high salaries and job
security.
Project management can be such a fear within many companies.
People who aren’t involved with development can’t even
comprehend how bad it can be, even at huge multi-million dollar
companies.
Pain management is generally benefited from a multidisciplinary
approach. This involves the use of analgesics and narcotics,
including interventional procedures and physical therapy.
Pain medication is the stock and trade of many of these
clinics, and for Americans who subscribe to the quick fix
theory of everything, this sounds like the ticket. Successful
long term chronic pain management is more complex, and requires
the active participation of the individual.
Business rules are declarative, expressive and easy for
non-technical users to understand, making it possible to define
how a decision is made completely and correctly. While many
decisions are automated to the point of completion – the
automation decides on an action and then causes it to be taken
– many are not.
Business is about numbers - sales, expenses, inventory,
profits, cash, stock value and more. Business people need logs
to understand customer and service behaviour and provide
service level measurements. So locking up logs in a static
repository designed for one constituency severely limits their
value and diminishes the return on investment not only in a log
management solution but also the return on your IT assets
overall.
